A Letter from Steve, Madison County District 2

It would be my honor to take up this mantle and represent my constituents as Madison County’s District 2 Magistrate. Over the course of my career, I have established a record of community service and local engagement that I hope can demonstrate how strong a voice I will be in county government.

Madison County faces certain fiscal challenges that we can overcome with the right leadership in place. It’s time to bring in a fresh perspective with the work ethic and experience that is critical when addressing the needs of our residents.

Economic development will be an important focus of my representation, as well as support for law enforcement and first responders. I will work to bring good-paying jobs to our communities and help work through our most pressing issues.

I am ready to get to work improving our county. I humbly ask for your vote in the upcoming election on or before May 17th.

Sincerely,

Stephen M. Lochmueller
District 2

EMERGING OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR RESIDENTS

We’re at a precarious time in our state and our local families deserve smart and accountable leadership, if we are to prosper. Easily one of the biggest issues that Madison County/District 2 will face over the next five years is the closing of the Bluegrass Army Depot. The Depot has had a profound impact on our county. We must be ready to fill the void and establish new opportunities for our residents.

If elected, I will be one of four magistrates working alongside our judge-executive. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and put my business experience to work for our hard-working families. Our children and grandchildren deserve a healthy economy so they too have the opportunity to raise a family in this special place. It’s up to us to make that happen.

INFRASTRUCTURAL IMPROVEMENTS

To reach our potential, we must provide our residents with better infrastructure. Fix deteriorating roads and bridges, as well as improve access to cellular and internet services. That said, we must seek to responsibly address our infrastructural needs while keeping as much money in the taxpayer’s pocket as possible.

I was appointed by the Governor to help push Kentucky forward with some of the very first commercial radio systems. I have experience in infrastructural improvements and would be honored to put it to use in my home community.

WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS

We have very talented and hardworking people in our district who are much more primed to make a difference in this community. I understand the value of a hard-working employee – let’s look towards better retainment solutions for our area and treat our people with the respect they are owed. There is no reason we should keep losing good people to other parts of the state.

SUPPORT LAW ENFORCEMENT & FIRST RESPONDERS

To ensure a safe and thriving community, we must protect those on the front lines. I fully support the men and women who serve in our communities day-in and day-out.

OPIOID CRISIS & REHABILITATION

We are a community of neighbors and I believe we are called to help our struggling peers and friends. The rehabilitation process can be very challenging for a recovering addict and the support of family and friends makes all the difference.

As we well know, the opioid crisis is complex and requires multiple solutions and strategies as we work to overcome it. One possible solution to this crisis involves offering educational opportunities to parents and young children. Earlier and continued education for children, kindergarten through 12th grade, can help our children better avoid the pitfalls of drug abuse later in life.
